On July 26, 2017 the United Way of Grant County partnered with Gas City Concerts in the Park and Indiana Wesleyan University to host Rock the Way with the headline act, The Family Stone but show wasn’t just about the music. “While this event raises awareness and funds for the United Way, it is a wonderful opportunity to make presentations like this because of the generosity of this community and the people sitting in this audience.” Said Alicia Hazelwood, Executive Director of the United Way of Grant County.

This year the United Way began a pilot Mini Grant Program to help assist local community organizations that are not participants in the Community investment process.  In the first round of grant funding the United Way of Grant County Awarded $12,000 in total to three very deserving organizations. Turn the Page Fund, Habitat for Humanity and Cancer Services of Grant County each received $4,000 to be used toward their respective programs. “These three organizations represent on of the three pillars of our work: Health, Education and Financial Stability” said United Way Board President Annie Vermilion.

The mission of the United Way of Grant County is to build stronger families and that is accomplished through providing sustainable funding to our partner agencies and finding ways to help through grant programing .
