A free in-person Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) Gatekeeper Training is being offered by Purdue Extension and Purdue Fort Wayne’s Behavioral Health and Family Studies Institute on Monday, February 9, 2:00 – 4:00 PM at the Marion Public Library (600 S. Program Description

QPR is an evidence-based suicide prevention training program created by the QPR Institute. In this training, participants learn:

•           How to recognize the warning signs of suicide

•           Common causes of suicidal behavior

•           Skills to question, persuade, and refer someone to help

No prior training is required to participate, and all experiences are welcome. Frequent attendees include concerned family members and friends, faith-based leaders, emergency responders, farmers, healthcare professionals, and school personnel. Participants who complete the training receive a certificate that is valid for two (2) years.

Registration Details

•           Each training is limited to 35 participants maximum.

•           Participants must register at least two (2) business days prior to their selected training date.
