LifeStream’s AngelWish Program Delivers Holiday Packages to Over 1,400 Isolated Seniors in East Cent

The holidays were brightened for over 1,400 isolated senior citizens in East Central Indiana through LifeStream’s AngelWish program. AngelWish is LifeStream’s annual campaign to make the holidays brighter for isolated seniors. The program coordinates doorstep delivery of packages of food, personal care items, practical necessities, and gifts for seniors who are isolated and alone during the holidays.
The program serves Blackford, Delaware, Fayette, Franklin, Grant, Henry, Jay, Madison, Randolph, Rush, Union and Wayne counties. Over 100 individuals, businesses, churches, and organizations from across LifeStream’s service area and beyond offered their support by donating monetarily, donating items, or volunteering to deliver or package gifts.
AngelWish gift bags were delivered on December 5 through December 24 by LifeStream staff, supportive businesses, and generous volunteers from the community. LifeStream continues to package and deliver gift bag with emergency need items throughout the winter months to seniors who are in need. LifeStream expects the AngelWish program to impact nearly 1,500 seniors this season.
Jenny Harrison, Fayette County Senior Center and LifeStream Volunteer, has seen the impact of AngelWish firsthand by personally delivering gift bags to those in need in her community.
Harrison said of the program, “You know as soon as they open that door and see what you have for them that this means so much. I have had people burst into tears with thanks and gratitude because they weren’t sure what they would have done without that AngelWish gift bag. It makes a difference.”
