Grant County State Bank awards Gene R. Johnson Memorial Scholarship

Sarah Wood, daughter of Jackie and Amelia Wood, Swayzee, Indiana, was awarded the Gene R. Johnson Memorial Scholarship at the Spring Oak Hill High School Award Program.  During her 4 years at Oak Hill High School, Sarah was active in Basketball, Soccer, O-Club and 4-H club.  She was also a member of the Spanish Club and the Student Council.  Ms. Wood received the $2,500.00 Scholarship based on her academic achievement, strong leadership qualities and her decision to pursue a college degree in Agri-Busness, from Purdue University.
 
The Gene R. Johnson Memorial Scholarship was established by Grant County State Bank to honor Gene for his many years of service to the community and over 50 years of leadership to Grant County State Bank.
